The RIO Large Chain hangs from 72.10 in of chain on a 4.96 in ceiling canopy, dropping up to 97.91 in below a soffit or porch ceiling.
Three E12 candelabra sockets, 60W max each. Matt black steel with clear tempered glass, a 7.01 in square body 20.23 in tall, 9.26 lbs.
cETLus-listed for wet locations, so it's rated for open exposure and not just sheltered soffits. Three year warranty. Bulbs aren't included.
Is this outdoor pendant rated for wet locations?
Yes. It's cETLus-listed with a wet location rating, which covers direct rain and open exposure. Damp-rated fixtures don't, which is the distinction to check on anything not sitting under a deep soffit. Votatec publishes no IP number for the RIO fixtures, because a location rating and an IP code are different systems. cETLus wet is what Canadian inspectors work from, and it governs where this can legally be mounted. If your spec demands an IP figure, ask us and we'll confirm what the factory can certify against.
How far down does it hang?
Up to 97.91 in. That's a 4.96 in canopy, 72.10 in of chain, then the 20.23 in lantern. On a standard 8 ft porch ceiling that's the full height, so the lantern reaches the floor and the chain has to come up. Our documents don't state a shortening method or list a shorter chain, so send your finished ceiling height and we'll confirm what the factory supplies before anything ships.
What are these hanging lights called?
Pendant, hanging lantern and outdoor chandelier all describe this fixture, and the socket count usually decides which word gets used. Three-light versions like this get listed as outdoor chandeliers; single-socket versions get called pendants. Votatec files it under outdoor wall light because it shares the RIO housing with the wall-mounted models, so search 12151LA-CG-CH if you're matching an existing installation.
What it takes to install and lamp
It lands on a ceiling or soffit junction box, not included, and that box carries 9.26 lbs. Supplied hardware is the chain, mounting unit, ball nuts, rubber rings, mounting screws and wire nuts. Power is 120V at 50-60Hz and it runs from -30°C to +50°C. The three E12 sockets take a candle or B-shape lamp, and since they ship empty, dimming depends entirely on the lamps you fit.
